JackSTART service portal - Documentation

This page describes a number of steps to use JackSTART online portal.

step 1

Step 1. After clicking the "service portal" link on the left navigation bar, you will find a login dialog of the portal. Use your email as an account, input the password, the click "Login" to get into the license form. If you forgot the password, you can goto the pasword recovery form by click "Forgot password?" link. Your new password will be sent to your email address.

Please note that: If you cannot find mails sent from us in your inbox, just take a look at your Junk folder.

Step 2. This is the license form. Here in the example above, you will find two different licenses. TRIAL is a trial license, SG/A6P is a single deployment for A6 Professional. Currently, there is no game uploaded for packing, thus you see "no game" status.

Step 3. Move your mouse over each license, the hight-light bar will be appeared. You can click on each license to fill information for packing.

Step 4. After clicking a license, the detail form will show as above. You can now fill information, and upload your game archive. In the example above is the datails of Centillex 3D demo on our Web site. What you need to fill are:

  • Game Title: the title of your game,
  • Company: your company name, these two fileds will be display while Java Web Start is downloading your game to the user's machine.
  • URL to Deploy: the URL to deploy your game,
    • if you purchase SINGLE deployment license, please fill the full URL path and it must end with /
    • if you are using TRIAL license, just ignore this. The game will be locked to run only from Centillex server.
  • Short Name: the 8-long short name to be used as your game file name.
  • Script Name: the main script of your game.
    • If you owns A6 Pro and pack your game as .WSR, just fill only the name of the script (without .wdl).
    • If you do not pack your game, please fill the full name of the script (with .wdl, i.e, main.wdl).
    • If you are using Lite-C, please fill the full name of the main code (i.e., main.c).
    • Current version of JackSTART does not support a game with Lite-C executable.
  • Arguments: the argument that will be passed to A6 engine.
  • Game File: the game file name to upload.

Step 5. Then you can click "browse" to choose a game archive to upload. It is very important that you have to change your exe file name to "main.exe". Then just simply zip the whole game folder from the game directory. Note that the game will NOT run, if you zip it from the parent directory.

Step 6. After selecting the game archive, press "upload" to start uploading.

Step 7 . Progress bar will start from 0 to 100%. Just wait until it is completed, then press "save" button, and the detail dialog will be closed.

Step 8. Now you can see the status changed to "uploaded", then please press "generate" to pack the game.

Step 9. After clicking "generate", the status will be changed to "pending". The server will take several minutes to complete your request.

Step 10. Now it's time to play when status is "ready". Just press the "test" button to run your game. Please note that your web browser may block Window pop-up. If the "test" button does not work, please allow this Web site, and press it again.
